There we were, sitting in this cute old cafe having brunch.
Our organic sandwiches were just sitting there infront of us. They were the last thing on our minds.
We just wanted to soak up what was around us. Eachother.
We were enjoying the time together.
Life has been so hectic lately, that we have been so absorbed in our errands and our to-do lists.
But not yesterday. Yesterday we put our errands aside and spent time together. as best friends. co-pilots. companions.
Sitting in that old rickety wooden chair and the sun peering in through the windows- I had never smiled so much or laughed so hard.
Others were looking at us. But who cared? This was our moment together.
To be honest, I am not even sure what we were laughing about. But obviously we thought eachother was bringing out their
‘A’ game with the jokes.
We left with a dessert in hand while holding hands.
Mr. Burgess- an apple strudel thingy.
Mine- a Ginger snap cookie the size my face.
In short, yesterday was bliss. It was much needed.
*to prove it was tasty- the crumb on my lip. yes, I devoured that cookie. It didn’t even stand a chance*
