Matt and I have been stumped on what to engrave in our rings.
We had no idea. For our first entire year of marriage- still no idea. So until we know the PERFECT thing to engrave in them- they will remain
Last week we went to a marriage class that my church put on and the speaker was FABULOUS (Kevin Hatch!)
I love going to classes where I can learn to improve things about myself, whether the classes are related to my professional or personal life.
On of my favorite things Kevin said through his class was the following:
He had said that ONE piece of 2X4 lumber standing upright all by itself is able to withstand 613lbs before it would snap in the middle.
He then asked the question: How much weight, do you think, TWO pieces of 2X4 lumbar nailed together, again, standing upright would be able to withstand?
Myself and a few others guesses probably double (the 613lbs)
He then went on to say, with TWO pieces of lumber nailed together it is able to withstand ….. 613X13.
I was wowed. Because I knew we were not just talking about lumbar in this marriage class (there ain’t no foolin’ me.)
And I am a person who loves facts. And that fact is undeniable.
And it is undeniable that Matt and I are a stronger unit than when we were alone.
I had never thought of it like that before.
The moment Kevin said ‘613X13’ – I got goosebumps and I knew I wanted THAT engraved into our rings.
Because it will always remind us that we are stronger because of one another if we always stand beside one another (holding hands of course!)
And I love that.
So that is what it will be:
