Just the other day Adam & I were out on a traditional horse-drawn sleigh ride. The snow was falling in soft gentle flakes, in massive amounts.
They were everywhere. My eyelashes have never felt longer, for attached at the end of each one, was a mini snowflake.
I felt so pretty, although im sure I looked freaky. I felt festive. The evening felt magical. My mitten-ed hand,
was holding his gloved hand. His cold watery eyes looking into my cold watery eyes (with the long white eyelashes),
and it was a true Christmas moment. The kind you seen in the movies. Where everyone is drinking copious amounts
of hot chocolate & playing games as a family & fighting (but in that cute “you know they’ll make up” sort of way).
Anyways, so there we were, on this sleigh ride with about 6 other couples. Feelings festive, I suggest we sing carols.
Adam (ever supportive & excited by my ideas) bursts into song in his deep voice. Everyone joins us.
We were laughing, smiling and feeling all “peace on earth”-like. We started singing Winter Wonderland.
By this time, im all warmed up & belting it.
“…….He’ll say: Are you married?
We’ll say: No man, (im shaking my head excitedly & moving my arms festively as though im a tiny little elf)
But you can do the job
When you’re in town..
Later on, we’ll PERSPIRE….(AUDIBLE GASPS),
As we dream by the fire” <— at this point it was just me singing. Everyone else was looking
at me like rein-deer caught in headlights.
I looked at Adam and I hissed “whhhhatt??”
He said “darlin’ its not Perspire (as in sweat, which makes PERFECT sense, they are by the fire,
and last time I checked, fires are hot),
My cheeks went 7 shades of red.
