While I am not one to “trash” wedding dresses, as is trendy right now…..I am one to “rock” the dress. What is the difference? The goal of a trash the dress is to literally do that. Trash it, because you are never going to wear it again. Light it on fire & get some dramatic shots. Roll around in staining red clay….etc….. My favorite is when a bride wishes to rock her dress. What this means is that we can get insanely awesome & dramatic shots, without worrying about the dress getting ruined (it almost NEVER does. even tons of mud washes out!). If my bride wants a dramatic bridal up in a tree, we can do that! We still take some care not to be reckless with the dress, however, we can do far more dramatic work then we can do on a wedding day. We have even had brides go in the ocean with their dress for some sultry sexy photos. So far, the dresses have never even been close to being ruined. They clean right up at the cleaners!
Here are some good examples of a Rock the Dress/Day after shoot that has less of a “trash” feel to it, and more of a “let your hair down, sweet & tender” feel to it.
While in San francisco, I will be doing a Rock the dress shoot for some clients & am super excited to show you the images!!
