Yesterday evening I decided to go for a mind clearing bike ride.
You see, building a house & being in full force wedding season can be busy. Very busy.
I just needed some fresh air. I needed quiet gentle life.
As I was biking along (with my 2 year old son sitting on the carrier mounted on the back of my bike) down
country roads, lined with vibrant yellow waist high canola fields; I felt my shoulder relax & my cup
being filled. There was something about the only sounds being the gravel under the tires & the birds singing.
That is, until a far more beautiful song started.
The song where my son called me lady. Where he substitued the word “baby” (which I sing to him) for “Lady”.
All on his own.
As we biked along, with stunning scenery around us, fresh air invigorating us & love bonding us…
I heard my curly locked boy singing (as his hair blew back under his bike helmet)
” I Love you Lady & if its quite alright, I need you Lady through all the lonely nights & I will LOVE you lady,
I will love you lady”
I swear to you, I will never, ever forget that moment.
