Hello my dear friends!
This weekend rocked my little blue socks off!
I got to spend the entire Saturday with an amazing couple- Amber and Shawn!
They had their wedding at the Hotel Macdonald!! Oh how I love it there!
Everytime I walk through the rotating doors I take a moment and just stand in awe!!
I purposefully wore my diamond earrings. ok, and a bracelet…
and I may have pretended it was my home when I walked through the doors.
I am keeping my fingers crossed.
The rooms at Hotel Macdonald, where brides get ready have such HUGE GORGEOUS windows, which allow
beautiful light to shine through… creating breathtaking pictures.
3 things I know for sure…
* I adored… no, loved… no, CRAVED her birdcage veil and her feathered headpiece. It was so unique and gorgeous!!
* Shawn and Amber toughed out the cold/snowy day! They are such troopers!
* Amber was a bride after my own heart, she was all about the details
She had the most beautiful vintage necklace that my eyes have ever beheld.
Thank you for letting me be apart of your beautiful wedding.
Destination Wedding Photography | From a bride
January 27, 2010To say that I love Melice & Nathan would be a huge understatement. Let me just put it this way, I bought them
Hawaiian bride & groom Christmas tree ornaments as a surprise, with their names…and I was tempted to put
them on my tree, look at them & sigh. When I made them their wedding day slideshow, I watched it 4 times.
They were married in Hawaii this fall. Overlooking waikiki beach (honolulu). We LOVED their wedding,
We LOVED Hawaii, We LOVED the getaway, We LOVED how the photos turned out, but mostly, mostly we loved them.
The type of people who were in attendance of their wedding spoke volumes of who they are, and the things that
they value in life. Every person that we met blew us away with their sweetness, generosity or genuine-ness.
Adam & I wanted to slowly morph our way into their lives & become friends with them & their friends.
One of my highlights of the trip was on our 2nd time surfing on Waikiki beach, (the day after their wedding!) we saw them.
They were out on their surfboards as well, all pro like. We caught some waves, and for my 2nd time, I did quite well (ok fine,
Adam did quite well too).
But I was so embarrassed that they had to witness the awkwardness that was me. They were nothing but gracious & encouraging.
As Adam and I drank salt water and missed wave after wave, they cheered us on. We felt like rockstars & loved the coaching.
These friends were people that we had just met the day before & now they were people that we loved, respected & greatly admired.
Mark my words, we will surf in Hawaii again with Melice & Nathan. We will. (heart you guys!)
Melice recently emailed this to me & I wanted to share with you the importance of having great destination
wedding photography. Just because you are getting married ‘abroad’ does not mean you need to settle for cheesy shots,
and only 50 poor quality images. You can still have your wedding day captured beautifully, the way that it is. And, if your
quick on the draw, we offer 3 free Internation Destination Wedding Photography shoots per year. Email or see
our website for details. Its a great offer & we love it as well! (Happy photographers=Amazing photographs)
Radelle & Adam,
I was just watching our wedding slideshow…again… yesterday (three times in a
row, does it sound crazy?) and I was so overwhelmed by the emotion and the beauty of
your shots that I couldn’t help shedding a few tears. I love every minute of it and
I only wish we could be back to that magical day. The two best decisions we made
when organizing our wedding were for sure: to have it in Hawaii and to have you and
Adam photograph it!
I knew when you accepted to be our destination wedding photographer in Hawaii that
we were in it for a blast, and if we had to do it all over again, we wouldn’t change
a thing! (except maybe that we would stay in Hawaii for ever and go surfing with you
guys everyday!
Even the best of the local photographers out there could not compete with the
extravagance of your free destination wedding package. The style and quality of your
photos are definitely worth being in those fancy wedding magazines. Gosh what an
amazing job you guys did!!! I still can’t believe how you made us look on these
pictures. And you made it so easy for us, we didn’t even have to think, you had all
the shots figured out beforehand! You captured all the emotions, the magnificience
of the Island, the joy and the laidback-ness (???) of everyone around. THANK YOU,
THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Nathan himself couldn’t believe it when it saw our album (and
he’s hard to impress!).
Everytime we look at our wedding pictures, we think about you guys with our hearts
filled with love for what you have given us. It really is an eternal gift.
Again, thank you so very much! We love you both!

Edmonton Wedding Photographer| Camrose Wedding Photographer
January 25, 2010Take a peek at their gorgeous Album
Krystle & Matt had a lovely outdoor wedding ceremony in Camrose.
Their Camrose wedding was done to the nine’s including wine & cheese served immediately after the wedding “i do”s.
They impressed all with their darling “i do” wedding napkins, in the most beautiful camrose backyard with the bright sun
making the occasion aglow. To say that Krystle’s wedding gown was simply stunning is an understatement. It was divine.
They held their lavishly decorated reception at the Norsemen Inn in Camrose. A fantastic venue for wedding Receptions in camrose.
It was a simply fabulous wedding, which resulted in FABBBBU-lous images.
These darling shoes made me almost turn heel & go shoe shopping, they are that cute.
I love how Krystle is looking in the mirror. What a surreal moment!
Being walked into the exquisite backyard to meet her groom. I love this moment as the wind picked up and is tossing her hair around so pretty-ily (yes its a word.)
Saying their I do’s.
Dad watching his baby girl grow up right before his eyes. This will SOO be adam when our kids get married. Ok, and me as well. totally.

Everyone clapping as they are announced Husband & Wife! I love the photojournalistic aspect in this photo. Fantastic Moment.
Beautiful Krystle looking at her ring & having it all sink in. What a beautiful moment.
I love, LOVE the drama in these black & whites! These are screaming to be featured as Gallery Wraps!
I am in love with the following few photos. IN LOVE.
I was scoping around before I needed to arrive at Krystle’s house for the “getting ready” photos & found this stunning green wall!
It added a lot of “pow” & drama to their photos!
The first dance totally warmed my heart. In my mind it was
Adam & I dancing. And in that moment I completely felt Krystle’s joy.
Jasper Wedding Photographer- Featured | Wedding Chicks
January 22, 2010You know the cool group in high school, the one that had all the cool kids? Yah im not that familiar with it either……
(I sure wasnt in it. I was the girl in the library studying…or the girl on the sidelines of a sports event flirting–take your pick.
But I looked at the Cool group longingly). That group in the wedding world is the Wedding Chicks. Only they are super nice.
But everyone knows they are fancy…oh & famous. Very Famous. Their website is pretty much the most popular wedding
planning site….(do I dare say it) in the world. Brides & Wedding planners from all over have it bookmarked.
Photographers stalk it for inspiration. Everyone adores the pretty, cherry site featuring weddings that are incredible.
And that was why they featured Tarynne & Matt. Because their wedding was incredible. They are also two amazing,
cultured people with hearts of Gold. No one deserves to be featured on the amazing Wedding chicks site more then them.
They live their lives with the consideration of other people in the forefront.
Check out their lovely feature here.
…and for your viewing pleasure…a few more….

January 21, 2010Unique & Romantic Edmonton Wedding Photographer| True Love & FAQ
January 5, 20103 Things I know for sure:
1) These are probably the two nicest people walking the earth.
2) Seriously the sweetest car ride of my life (thankyou for being so kind for taking me
for a joy ride! that was so thoughtful of you to offer & I LOVED it! I’m STILL talking about it!)
3) They are both tenderhearted & friendly and will use that influence (and their obvious
good looks) to make such a difference in the world!
ERP’s Lesson on “Style” (FAQ for photographers)
I think that this wedding is an awesome example of why we dont specialize in “one style” of photography.
We feel that as talented professionals, it is our job & privledge to capture YOU, your love & your personality
(and not have some lame list of the 20 typical wedding day poses).
If we came with a set style (say traditional or photojournalistic or some other limiting word) of photography
to your day, no matter how hard we tried, we would not fully capture you. and what YOU are all about.
So this is how we are able to go from (for example) a picturesque & romantic
golf course with lovely scenery and a veil blowing in the wind, to a funky back alley with graffiti.
Because our ultimate goals as your trusted photographer is to be in tune with you and your love.
We are capturing moments, looks & feelings & yes, we are guiding you as models.
So while we do help pose & direct you (we realise you are not likely professional models, but would LOVE
to look like ones) We are not “creating” your love, we are merely guiding you and capturing your love.
(picture this: ahem…ahem…yes Janelle, just drop your hand…no, more elegantly, and jake…a more happy look
please, and looking at the camera, okay looking happy & in love. good, got it”. BOO. We do not do that.
No one will look natural with that much guiding. But you wonder, well how will I look good with
no one guiding me? Excellent question! With much more savy moves. We are skilled in pose-ing you with
out making you look posed. Giving you an idea (through modeling it ourself & being fun) of what we
think would suit the surroundings & your personality and helping you run with that. Keeping the
attitude light & playful & tender, so that those emotions come through. We also think it is
key to be trained in “watching for moments”, having some trained intuition about certain
situations that will likely emit a very candid and real moment. One that isnt set up at all,
and one where the people involved dont even know that we are capturing it. Being skilled
enough with our cameras that we can nail such a quick & fleeting moment, is something
that is very important to us. Because you can never “redo” those brief interactions, and yet
they are the most important.
I guess folks what im trying to say is this: Photographers who we consult (we offer photographer consulting,
but are filled right up until April) always ask “what do you say your style is”? and we say, “we dont”.
If you puruse our work on our website, you will SEE our style & our techniques & what your photos will resemble.
BUT we do not let “a style” guide our day. We let your love & who you are guide our day & we
capture that. So, THAT is our style.
YOU are.
so that makes sense right? clear as mud?
We encourage all photographers to shoot from this point of view, rather
then go to a wedding or shoot with your main focus being on YOUR style. Get in tune
with your clients, & shoot their style.
Who they are & what their love looks like.

I Love the tenderness in this next one. So real. I picture this above their bed on a huge canvas.
This sweet & real moment occured seconds after the walked down the aisle and out the church doors. I love this moment. JUST them.

I love stylish grooms
This is my favorite type of wedding party portrait & love when I get a wedding party whose vibe is one of rock n’ roll.

December 17, 2009Im not going to say that Kari & Radelle have been hogging the blog, but they have.
A guy cannot get a word in edge-wise around here. Ive been going through my summers
work & updating my portfolio & realised that I have quite a few weddings that ive
yet to share.
I really enjoyed working with Josh & Megan (come to think about it, I need to blog their Engagment shoot!)
3 Things I know for sure:
1. Josh loves megan. It’s so obvious. He’s smitten.
2. The girls here at the office swooned over Megan’s purple shoes. They
wanted to marry them.
3. They are seriously, seriously cool people. So down to earth & fun.

December 10, 2009With cold days upon us (and getting worse on the weekend), we thought
that we would warm you up by showing you weddings that we havent had a
chance to feature on our blog, from this past summer. This wedding was in Athabasca.
I love doing wedding photography in athabasca as it is so scenic. I was up there a few
times this summer & each wedding blew me away! So lovely & the people so down
to earth and kind hearted.
3 Reflections that I know for sure
1) Jaime & I share a serious love of horses
2) That I loved her cheery yellow bouquet
3) That they are adorable together. Totally darling.
I love the romantic feeling in this one! It just makes you go “ahhhhhh…”
This girl has a megawatt smile. She brightens the room.

VERY fun wedding party to work with!
I LOVE the light on her veil & the vintage chair we found in the barn

Edmonton Wedding Photographer| Tender Love
December 9, 2009I chose to post these two lovebirds on the eve of Adam & I’s anniversary, because I love their pure, honest love.
One of the bridesmaid speeches talked about how perfect they are for each other, and thats
how I feel about my Adam. We were made from the same cloth (is that how you say that?).
2 Souls in seperate bodies….That is these two. They compliment each other perfectly.
3 Things I know for sure
1) He got married in barefeet (outdoor ceremony) & I thought it rocked
2)The bride taught me amazing things about gratitude & sacrifice
3)This wedding party was so fun & rocked it so well.

I love how this photo shows the ceremonial ring & the tender ring boy’s fingers

I think it is so neat to see the (super cute!!) flowergirl beside the Bride. Little Miss & Mrs. Cute.
Didn’t I tell you the wedding party was fun? (I stopped traffic & nearly got a ticket I swear!)

December 9, 2009As promised, more of S+J
I know I say it all the time, but our brides are totally fabulous.
I love the vintage feel in this one

Edmonton Wedding Photographer| Shannon & Justin
December 8, 2009
-By Radelle
The moment I met Shannon, I fell in love with her.
She is darling in the sweetest way. I arrived at her house and she was so calm, but so excited. So giddy and yet so certain. You could see in her eyes, that she know without a doubt that Justin was The One. She had a peace in her demeanor that was tangible. I was so excited for her.
3 things I know for sure
1) That Justin adores her (as he should) and that she is going to make an amazing wife. amazing. So tenderhearted.
2) That I love her spunky mother & aunt. They won my heart the moment I walked in that front door.
3) That her grandpa was around. He is passed away, but ever since, she & her mother have been finding dimes. Wouldn’t you know that there was one randomly on her dressing room table & when I moved the couch (to get a certain shot) the only thing under there was 1 dime (ok, I don’t know about you folks, but I shudder at what might be under my couch, there is never just one thing, there is always a million things that I’ve been missing terribly. Oh, and lots of toothbrushes. Random, I know). But ALL that was under her couch, was a dime. Amazing & Magical.
These photos were done at Fort Edmonton Park. I love weddings at Fort Edmonton Park as they are so unique. The photography that I can capture there is one of a kind. I also love accommodating the staff at Fort Edmonton is to my brides. They really do dote on them hand & foot and I appreciate that. If you are thinking about having your wedding at Fort Edmonton Park, feel free to drop me an email and pick my brain.
p.s. isnt she lovely?!
They were Married in St. Basil’s. The Great Ukrainian Catholic Church on 7007 109st NW Edmonton.
More Pictures of these two lovebirds tomorrow…..

I will be sharing quite a few more images from Chris & Marlene’s fabulous luxury wedding, however I want to use this blog post to educate our brides the importance of where you get ready.
Marlene got ready at the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald and this was a wise choice for a few reasons.
1) there was no clutter in the background of the photos. It doesnt matter if you choose the luxury hotel macdonald or the bedroom you grew up in, the point is still the same. Simplify & declutter the space. You do not likely want your old science project from grade 5 in the background of the shots. The more elegant you make the space look, the more elegant it will feel in your photos. This does not have to cost a lot, it can just be a matter if tidying, putting trinkets away & cleaning.
2) choose to do most of your “getting ready” in a room with nice natural light. The Hotel Macdonald is great for weddings this way because most of the suites have nice large windows. The luxury suite that Marlene got ready in had 3 very large (floor to ceiling) windows. This flooded the room with flattering light. If you are going to get ready in a hotel room (great idea) tour the hotel room ahead of time to see if its size will accomadate the amount of people you plan to have get ready there, and the natural light (at the time of day you will be getting ready). If the room feels glowy, it will look amazing in your photos.
3) As a shout out to Hotel Macdonald, they always go over & above to make our brides feel relaxed and pampered. We are always impressed at the way that they treat our brides, just as they should be treated on their wedding day, as royalty. So a big shout out to Hotel Macdonald for weddings!

Marlene went to New York to purchase this dress. Id say it was well worth the trip!
Can you see why we mention Hotel Macdonald’s glowy light? Marlene looks radiant!

I adore my Adam. He is everything to me. And he knows it. But he adores me as well.
I love marriage & am a huge fan & believer in the happy ever after. I love the way
that Adam looks at me. Ive had complete strangers come up & comment on it.
He makes me feel loved.
These two (Ashley & Jeff) are the California version of Adam & I.
They are so in love. They are so happy & playful. They are best friends.
I loved how they looked at each other. I know they will be happy forever.
They are connected at the soul.
