{Jenine and David} Canmore Wedding Photographer

    August 10, 2010

Jenine and David had a beautiful wedding in Canmore!  Nothing could ruin their day. They had a smile on their face the entire time- even when some
unfriendly weather stopped by.  Because of the weather they were able to experience the best of both worlds- they had a gorgeous outdoor mountain ceremony,
which was interupted by rain and hail but then finished their ceremony in the lodge next to a crackling fireplace. It was truly beautiful!

I couldn’t help but tear up when they said their vows. Their loved beamed through the words that were spoken.
You could see it in their eyes. That this love was real. That this love was true.

Jenine and David made their wedding unique in SO many ways!
Because they both work for the Edmonton Police they incorporated a bagpiper within the ceremony which made it even more personal for them
    (if thats even possible!)
They also had a live band at the wedding reception!  (For all those brides planning a wedding- this was a fantastic idea! It really
motivated guests to get up and dance and enjoy the music being played!)

It was a beautiful honor to share in their beautiful day! I have never met anybody more genuine, caring, thoughtful and kind as Jenine and David.
I cherished every moment I spent with them- because I, again, got to see another example of true love.

    Mucho Amor,
    Kari

    Destination wedding photographer {Glorious Seattle}

    May 21, 2010

    -By Radelle & Adam

When walking along a sidewalk, Adam always makes sure that I am on the inside, and not close to the road.

It’s to protect me, he says.

If we cross the street & im on the outside, he instantly switches spots with me.

Sometimes its the little things in love that take your breath away.

For me, this act of caring is one of them. The fact that he cares enoughto make sure im safe.

He does it habitually.  He just cares about me like that.

    Why do I share this?

Because this is also Jed. Jed is so tender & kind to Julia that it would bring tears to your eyes.

And you know the best part?

No one deserves it more then Julia.

As they came out of the Seattle LDS temple as husband & wife, I looked over at Adam and

saw that he had tears in his eyes. They looked very similar to the ones that were in my eyes.

I was so chocked up to see that Julia had found Jed, and that in that moment in time,

things in this world were perfect.

Julia & Jed, Adam & I were so honored to photograph your wedding. Your love & total

respect for each other is remarkable & you inspire marriages all around you, simply with how

    you look at each other.

    Much Love,

    Radelle & Adam

    Isnt the Seattle Temple magestic?

Julia LOVES Dr. Pepper. Its pretty much a staple for her.

Julia’s dad is about the sweetest thing around….and Julia loves to sing. To 80’s songs that ive never heard before. SO cute!

Julia, you are timelessly glam. unreal!!

When you see this picture of Julia’s mom, don’t you just love her? I do!!

“…goin’ to the temple & we’re going to get married…”

Coming out of the temple as newlyweds, Jed finds his mom & gets a little teary.

I will feature more wedding party shots in another post soon, but here is a quick preview. We have fun!!

These two laugh constantly. With each other & at me. But either way, it makes for lovely photos!

Can you say vintage 1940’s? SERIOUSLY JULIA SO STUNNING!!

She did this, 100% on her own. Gosh I adore her!

As we walked down Pikes Place Market taking photos, we walked by a group of 13 year old girls.

When they saw Julia walk by, as if on cue, they burst into song. All at once. Like something out of a movie!!

This is Julia looking back at them. I got goose bumps. Ok, fine & tears in my eyes.

The streets & allys in seattle are so fabulous and make amazing backdrops for wedding photos!

Hands down, my fave shot of the day. I heart everything about it. I would marry this picture if I could.

    .

These next few are candids of the bride while everyone was on the lovely deck enjoying

    hor dourves.

I will end this post with a few lovely Red & Black & Demask reception details!

    You know that person? {Edmonton Wedding Photographer}

    May 19, 2010

    {-By Adam & Radelle}

who is always thinking about others? Whose soul radiates happiness & joy? Who deserves, out of all the people you know,

to find that complete love? Who, despite weathering numerous storms in life, still comes out with a heart of Gold,

a smile on their face & a clear view of what they want?

    Meet Julia.

Julia is a remarkable woman who possess an incredible amount of inner strength & spirit. Not only is she gracious and kind

to everyone; but she knows what matters in life.

    What really, really matters.

Love & the people you love.

This past weekend it was Julia’s turn to have a dream come true. It was Adam & I’s very, very distinct honor to be able

to be a part of her special wedding day in Seattle to a tender, humble, amazing hearted man.

These two are magic together. And they both deserve it.  Completely.

Destination Wedding Photographers/ How lucky are we???

    April 15, 2010

How lucky am I? I think I carry a small green 4 leaf clover in our backpockets .
Or maybe I’ve trapped a troll in my purse (yes, that is good luck. Thats what the people who play Bingo say!).  I am going to scream this from the roof tops:
I HAVE THE BEST BRIDES EVER! EVER!
The other day, I recieved a package from one of my amazing Brides (hollla at Shannon!).
    {I am going to Mexico with her in a few weeks and am shooting her beautiful wedding on the beach.}
And I open it up and I see a luggage tag… but not just any luggage tag… the cutest FLIP FLOP luggage tag in the entire world!!!

Seriously you guys, this made my day!!! I am sooo excited to show up at the airport with it hangin’ on my luggage… ohhh ya.
And not only did she send us that, she sent us a book, with her days events and times, things to see in Mexico,
    information about the resort… EVERYTHING!!

Shannon has not missed a step with this wedding. She is an UNREAL bride!
Always keeping me in the loop and is ALWAYS making me feel special!!

    SHE ROCKS!!

I am a lucky photographer, because I get brides like Shannon. Seriously. Like I said, I got a four leaf clover hidden somewhere…

I may or may not have eaten many many Oreos. I know this is “Little Kari” coming out, but I think they be my #1 cookie.
They are the PERFECT combination of icing sugar and chocolate… obviously, since I nearly ate a whole package.

I know and understand that that was the most random thought about Oreos.  But they are all I can think about… when I can get
    my next icing sugar/chocolate fix.

So, Mr Christie, You DO make good Cookies!
Here are my ‘Couple’ Photos from Vegas! I am very pleased! The sun was very very nice to us. I love the lighting in these!

    Edmonton Wedding Photographer {Vegas Wedding & Murray}

    March 24, 2010

The first time I was  in love I was 6 years old. To a blonde haired, blue eyed boy named Murray.

He was seven. We never spoke, but if we had, I’m certain it would have been pure magic. Hollywood magic.

He moved away in grade 2, but I shall never forget my crush on him & his hockey boy hair.

I had it so bad, that in my “writing book” <–remember those, those tan colored thin books with

lined paper that you used as your “journal” <—that your teacher read (creepy)? Anyways, one day

I stopped writing my name as Radelle Marie, and spent the rest of the year  writing “Radelle Murray”.

     I had it bad Internet.

    BAD.

When I started dating Adam, I noticed that in my University binders I was doodling “Radelle Marieve”

<—I can only guess that the “eve” part was to be his match. You know, Adam & Eve.

    I know, I know. Weird.

Sometime when I’m photographing a couple, I wonder what little quirks exist beneath what I know.

What silly stories do they have, both separate and as a couple? My goal, by the end of a shoot/wedding,

is to have a little bit of insight into some of those quirks.

Here are a few images of mine of the lovely couple together!

    March 23, 2010

You know what? I really really wish my hair would just grow 7 inches over night…
and then I wouldn’t have to wear extensions.. I could just have lush, long hair like I dream of.
You know what? I wish I never went Blonde, which then inturn, fried my hair, which resulted in it being hacked off.
You know what? I wish I had HER hair….

Maybe before bed, I’ll talk to the Big Man Upstairs and see if he can do something… maybe we can swing a deal. Or maybe I’ll just have to be patient.

    Unique Edmonton Wedding Photographers {Vegas Bride & Groom}

    March 22, 2010

Kari & I are so excited to show you our photos from Vegas! Whenever we Travel out of province or country for a wedding or Rock-the-dress (trash the dress)

shoot, we always travel in two. Either Kari & Radelle or Radelle & Adam, or Kari & Matt.  It is largely for safety & security reasons. However, it is

so beyond fun to look through all of our shots after & hold a mini competition of who is the better photographer. The winner gets a lindor chocolate.

We won’t be holding a voting contest on here, because, well we are sensitive girls…but we did want to show you our work. It is amazing how similar

it is. We do this on purpose. We want our brides & grooms to know that whether they get Kari, Adam or Radelle their photos will be fabulous.

We have similar “styles/eyes/methods?interacting” on purpose. For consistency.

Anyways, over the next 2 weeks we will be showing you the wedding images from Vegas!!

    Enjoy!

Today I will be starting with my “portraits” of the bride & groom (separately) and then Kari will do the same. Then later in the

week I will show you a few shots of them together as a couple & Kari will do the same.

Then the following week…we will show you our other lovely couple!!

From a bride | Destination Wedding Photography

    January 27, 2010

All dolled up (69) copy copy copyTo say that I love Melice & Nathan would be a huge understatement. Let me just put it this way, I bought them

Hawaiian bride & groom Christmas tree ornaments as a surprise, with their names…and I was tempted to put

them on my tree, look at them & sigh.  When I made them their wedding day slideshow, I watched it 4 times.

They were married in Hawaii this fall. Overlooking waikiki beach (honolulu). We LOVED their wedding,

We LOVED Hawaii, We LOVED the getaway, We LOVED how the photos turned out, but mostly, mostly we loved them.

The type of people who were in attendance of their wedding spoke volumes of who they are, and the things that

they value in life. Every person that we met blew us away with their sweetness, generosity or genuine-ness.

Adam & I wanted to slowly morph our way into their lives & become friends with them & their friends.

One of my highlights of the trip was on our 2nd time surfing on Waikiki beach, (the day after their wedding!) we saw them.

They were out on their surfboards as well, all pro like. We caught some waves, and for my 2nd time,  I did quite well (ok fine,

    Adam did quite well too).

But I was so embarrassed that they had to witness the awkwardness that was me. They were nothing but gracious & encouraging.

As Adam and I drank salt water and missed wave after wave, they cheered us on. We felt like rockstars & loved the coaching.

These friends were people that we had just met the day before & now they were people that we loved, respected & greatly admired.

Mark my words, we will surf in Hawaii again with Melice & Nathan. We will. (heart you guys!)

Melice recently emailed this to me & I wanted to share with you the importance of having great destination

wedding photography. Just because you are getting married ‘abroad’ does not mean you need to settle for cheesy shots,

and only 50 poor quality images. You can still have your wedding day captured beautifully, the way that it is. And, if your

quick on the draw, we offer 3 free Internation Destination Wedding Photography shoots per year. Email or see

our website for details. Its a great offer & we love it as well! (Happy photographers=Amazing photographs)

    Radelle & Adam,

I was just watching our wedding slideshow…again… yesterday (three times in a
row, does it sound crazy?) and I was so overwhelmed by the emotion and the beauty of
your shots that I couldn’t help shedding a few tears. I love every minute of it and
I only wish we could be back to that magical day. The two best decisions we made
when organizing our wedding were for sure: to have it in Hawaii and to have you and
    Adam photograph it!

I knew when you accepted to be our destination wedding photographer in Hawaii that
we were in it for a blast, and if we had to do it all over again, we wouldn’t change
a thing! (except maybe that we would stay in Hawaii for ever and go surfing with you
    guys everyday!

Even the best of the local photographers out there could not compete with the
extravagance of your free destination wedding package. The style and quality of your
photos are definitely worth being in those fancy wedding magazines. Gosh what an
amazing job you guys did!!! I still can’t believe how you made us look on these
pictures. And you made it so easy for us, we didn’t even have to think, you had all
the shots figured out beforehand! You captured all the emotions, the magnificience
of the Island, the joy and the laidback-ness (???) of everyone around. THANK YOU,
THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Nathan himself couldn’t believe it when it saw our album (and
    he’s hard to impress!).

Everytime we look at our wedding pictures, we think about you guys with our hearts
filled with love for what you have given us. It really is an eternal gift.

Again, thank you so very much! We love you both!

Jasper Wedding Photographer- Featured | Wedding Chicks

    January 22, 2010

You know the cool group in high school, the one that had all the cool kids? Yah im not that familiar with it either……

(I sure wasnt in it. I was the girl in the library studying…or the girl on the sidelines of a sports event flirting–take your pick.

But I looked at the Cool group longingly). That group in the wedding world is the Wedding Chicks. Only they are super nice.

But everyone knows they are fancy…oh & famous. Very Famous.  Their website is pretty much the most popular wedding

planning site….(do I dare say it) in the world. Brides & Wedding planners from all over have it bookmarked.

Photographers stalk it for inspiration. Everyone adores the pretty, cherry site featuring weddings that are incredible.

And that was why they featured Tarynne & Matt. Because their wedding was incredible. They are also two amazing,

cultured people with hearts of Gold. No one deserves to be featured on the amazing Wedding chicks site more then them.

They live their lives with the consideration of other people in the forefront.

Check out their lovely feature here.

    …and for your viewing pleasure…a few more….

    Chilaxamouse - By Radelle

I nearly peed my pants. we were laying in bed talking. Me looking through recipe books (of food I cannot bring myself to cook as I just dont feel that it is healthy, but love reading about it anyways…)
and Mr.Jensen was reading his Porter Rockwell book. I said “what would I contribute to a recipe book?”
Mr. Jensen offered “veggie platter”? ha ha…Mr. Jensen.
Not funny. “Perhaps my califlower bake” I suggest…or my pita ‘pizzas’…..
Mr. Jensen says, id make the gooiest chocloatest, double fudgiest, dessert that I would call my chocolate chilaxamouse. “is that a real thing”? (im not one to be ‘up’ on baking terms)…
He said “no, chilaxamouse….like just hanging ou, just chilaxin’ with your chocolate dessert.
    Hence chilaxamouse.”
To which I burst out laughing my hiney off.
Then I asked him to get me some cough syrup stuff. I dont even know what it is, but he thinks  it will cure this rough cough ive been battleing for days. He brings it and hands it to me.
I say “honey, im reclined in bed, how am I to drink this without a spoon”?
he then pulls out an enormous soup ladel from behind his back. Again I peed laughing. if only I could have that much cough medicine…imagine how well id sleep :)
oh, the laughs Mr.Jensen, oh the laughs.

I was thrilled. I had found wildlife. sealife. whatever. Sunning itself on a rock. With Adam always spotting

things before me (example: “oh honey did you see that whale?” me:”where???!!!” Adam” oh its gone now” me:”Boo”),

I was so pleased that I found these two little guys first. So pleased that I insisted that I got a photo with my prizes.

After the photo (which I was so excited to have for future bragging rights), adam said “wanna see if they snap at me?”

and he waved his finger in front of them (first of all, RUDE, they were tanning!!). Nothing. So he touched the back of

the one. Nothing. Next thing I hear “Radelle they are dead”.  I insisted that they must have died AFTER the photo

was taken. I had found them live. Hadnt I??  I insisted on a funeral.

Honolulu Wedding Photographer, Destination Wedding Photographer | Blonde moment.

    November 5, 2009

Honolulu Wedding PhotographerOne of the funniest moments of our trip?

Adam: “do you want to drive around to the other side of the island and check it out?”

me (Radelle): “Yes, I heard that its more “jungle-like” and “lush” over there. It would be lovely. I heard the beaches are so nice”

    Adam: “Ok, lets go”

Me: (studying the GPS like a nerd) “now which ocean would be on that east side of the island then?”

Adam: Well with it….err….being an island and all, its the same ocean…… (looking at me strangely)

    Me: “come again???”

Adam: ” imagine a delish cup of hot chocolate”

Me: “now your speakin’ my language”

Adam: “now put a little marshmellow in that cup…isnt it the same hot chocolate all the way around?”

me: “gotcha, say no more” (blushing furiously)

(for my mother who will likely read this. Yes I did learn in school. Yes I did know this. I just…err…forgot?..blonde moment??)

    Hawaii Destination Wedding

We have made it home safe & sound from Hawaii. Here is a tiny sneak peek with many,

many more photos to come. We will be sharing some as we get them proofed!

We’ve already recieved emails asking us to share the details of our trip. We will be sharing

details & photos soon…but until then, here is a quick run down.

    Things we did & loved:

-The bride & groom were incredible. We totally loved them (we met them for the

first time there) & had so much fun photographing them & surfing with them.

    - We loved waikiki beach!!

    -We loved surfing.

-Radelle loved surfing the best & Adam loved Scuba diving the best.

-We both finished our scuba diving couse there (doing our 4 test dives, where we had to show

our “skills”) and are now padi certified!

-We did a semi-hard hike to these hidden waterfalls where we swam at the base of them

in our “private pool” :) it was so stunning it looked like a jungle.

    -Boogie boarding

-Polynesian cultural center & evening dinner & show

-Radelle trying to do the hula dance in front of anyone who would watch

-Snorkeling anywhere we felt (we had snorkel equipment)

-Hiking diamond head & looking down at honolulu

    -late night ice cream

    -late night pizza

    -driving a convertible

-tossing around the idea of buying a house there & shooting full time there from nov-march….

    -etc,etc. more to come :)

    Much Love,

    Adam & Radelle

    2) he didnt turn heel and run when i yelled loudly ” I GOT LEID!!!!”  (with MUCH passion) in front of 200 people upon

     getting my first flower lei.
