The first glance… is it for you? True, it is stepping away from the traditional see-each other-for-the-first-time walking down the aisle, but if you are deciding to go the route of doing a first glance (see each other prior to the ceremony), there really isn’t anything like it.
It is such an intimate, secluded, memorable moment that you will never forget.
It will probably be one of your favorite moments of the day.
Tears will be shed, kisses will be shared and hugs will be embraced.
It is one of my favorite things to capture.
The first glance allows the couple to see each other before the ceremony in a private way.
After the first glance, we head into to formal portraits with the bride and groom, wedding party and then finally the family. **All photos are taken prior to the ceremony**
Another benefit to the first glance approach is that it is such a courtesy for your guests, as after the ceremony, cocktail hour begins and then moves right into the reception. There is no ‘waiting’ time.
This is a very popular wedding day timeline in the USA and slowly Canadians are adopting it more and more. When planning your day events, consider what would work best for you!
“A first glance with Eternal Reflections Photography was perfect for us! It felt so natural, relaxed and intimate. I loved having that moment captured in a meaningful and quiet way, rather then from one end of the aisle to the other…with a hundred people watching. It might not be for everyone, but it was definitely for us” -John & Lisa (2012)
Below is a beautiful first look mini series (there was MANY more!) from this past year’s winter wedding.
