When the rush of the busiest part of our wedding season is over (may-end of Oct), and before winter weddings & destination weddings start….there is typically a few weeks in there of down time. Last week of October & Nov is usually a month where we can take a deep breath, read a good book, do a few fun things & re group for a lot of destination travel & edmonton winter weddings!

This week we had an extra reason to take a special day off & spend some time together (Kari & I) away from computers, publications, emails, photos. With me being due to have this baby (due on Halloween), I decided that I wanted to spend a fun day with my son….doing anything & everything he wanted to do in one day. Time to focus on him  & get some last cuddles  and laughs in, before the first few weeks of up all night….new baby…adjustment started. Being (just) 4 years old he chose Galaxy land & cinnamon buns as his “idea of things”. So cute. So, we invited Kari & combined our day out into a dual purpose day out. Oh the fun we had! No ride was safe from us! I even hoped on a few of the more low key ones (boat anyone?? no, not the upside down boat) to try to encourage baby along.

What really got the 3 of us though, were the arcade games. Growing up with 4 kids in the family, going to galaxy land was a HUGE (and expensive) deal. We cherished it! BUT, our parents were not willing to dish out $100 more so that their 4 kids could “waste” time playing arcade games when there were so many rides to enjoy. But, kari & I are adults now. So, with unsure movements & no clue how to play a single game, we made our way into unfamiliar territory. We had an absolute blast! So did my son! As we saw the ticket’s being dispensed with each good “hit”, we knew that we were in for a big prize. We were arcade masters.

We took our (whatwethoughtwas) huge stash of tickets up to the counter. We had 101. That qualified us for basically the equivalent of 2 kinder surprise toys. Because we have generous hearts, we gave all of our winnings to my son to enjoy & laughed at how we thought we were close to getting that remote control jeep set!

The day ended with cinnamon buns, laughter and a sleepy tired boy (and mom).

The one thing I love about Alycia and Cam is that they are not afraid to be different.
The layout of their wedding was so smooth and unique (to us in Canada :)
They decided to have a ‘first look’ which then led into all the photos.
Their ceremony took place late afternoon followed by their lovely reception.
Both the ceremony and reception took place at the gorgeous Louis Hole Greenhouse in St. Albert.

Alycia and Cam and have such a love for each other that cannot be matched.
They have the biggest hearts.
They make everyone feel appreciated and loved. They are both so very genuine.

I wish you all the very best in your life together. I know that you will be holding hands the entire way.

xoxo
Kari

Victoria, Vancouver & Edmonton Luxury Wedding Photographer for Fabulous couples in love.

It was such an honor to photograph this amazing wedding. Not only was my bride so gracious, kind and beautiful, but I had the good fortune of being able to work with the amazing makeup artist Sarah from Faces By Olive! Right from the beginning of the day, things were amazing. The bride, bride’s mother, bridesmaids….were all sweethearts. The ceremony was charming, heartfelt and full of emotion. We were able to take photos of the bride & groom at the most fantastic farm out of town (among other places) and I just loved it there! These two are the real deal. They are adorable together & a perfect match.
I wish you both lots of love, happiness and adorable hockey playing kids.

Fraser + Amanda.
These two were very nervous for their engagement session.
They told me that it is a continuing joke between friends and family how ‘non-photogenic’ they are.
I beg to differ.
These two are NATURALS! Amanda has such an awesome sense of style and is such a gem!
Fraser, well, he’s just too cool and ADORES Amanda.

There wedding next year is going to be a ball.

Mucho Love,
K.
