It was Kari’s birthday. Matt was going to be out of town on it. Kari was handling him being gone, mostly, with grace. Our sister, Krystal had planned her new baby’s blessing for Kari’s birthday (it was the only date that worked for both sides of the family). Needless to say, poor Kari’s birthday was being trumped.
Krystal and I, along with our cousin Hailey had planned to throw a small surprise slumber party for Kari later that evening when baby shower guests headed home. Kari had no idea.
With streamers, noise makers and dollar store princess banners in hand, we broke into Kari’s house later that evening…..armed with face masks, PJ’s, rollers in our hair, movies, nachos and apple crisp.
We found kari on her computer……skyping with the love of her life…out-of-town-Matt.
Needless to say, she was excited as we sang “for shes a jolly good female…for shes a jolly good female” and set about cooking apple crisp, applying face masks and talking about the most comfortable push up bras.
It was a lovely night, and I just wanted to take a second to tell Kari who much we love her. Her kind, sweet spirit. Her love of life. Her gentle heart with both the old and the young. I love how much she loves my son. I love how she is always willing to lighten my load. I love how much she loves Matt and is such an example to those around her of a successful marriage, and putting in her 100%. Kari is not only incredibly beautiful on the outside, but she is even more beautiful on the inside. Folks, this girl is the real deal. Im blessed to have her as the funnest business partner ever, but also as my sister forever.
xoxoxo,
Radelle
