p.p.s and HELLO, shoe clips?!! darling!!  Ooohh, or your something blue!!

In this social media age with facebook, twitter & blogs…I have been blessed to make many photographer friends.  I consider myself even more blessed however, because many of these people are not just online friends that ive honestly never met, but real friends. Friends who ive met, dined with,  laughed with, chatted with, emailed, bounce ideas off of, encourage, feel encouraged by, laugh & cry with life’s hill’s and valleys and friends who I know, are real friends.

I had the opportunity while shooting in California, to attend my friend Glady’s wedding to the love of her life Chris. It was so very lovely to be a guest at such a lovely wedding, and the first time I have attended a wedding that I wasn’t shooting in FIVE years. I enjoyed the chance to just sit back, visit & catch up with those that I hold dear immensely. Because I am a total geek, I brought my camera out about 10 times. I didn’t want to go home without any memories. The wedding was being photographed by my friend, the ever sweet Jasmine Star, and I had fun just capturing a few photos, for me. Of my friends, and my experience.

So to Gladys, Jasmine, Anouschka, Anda, Jonathan, Michelle, and Jessica love you all dearly and loved being able to spend an evening together again. Let’s do it again soon.

Glady’s looked radiant as she married Chris. I totally cried during the ceremony, but then, this is normal for me.

I love this photo of Gladys and Anda Marie.

Jasmine, you are the cutest thing ever. Loved catching up with you!

I love his expression!! Just married!

Anouschka & Ray all the way from Boskoop, Netherlands.

Jonathan and his wife Joanne were an absolute blast at our table and burned up the dance floor with their moves.Jasmine and JD doing their thang. The first dance was highly romantic. I loved it!

And what is a wedding without a little photobooth fun? I had a blast in that booth!!

Sore feet at your wedding

November 29, 2010

I was purusing the blog of my dear friends over at Awespiring weddings (wedding planning & design) and they had done a product feature on the cutest litte invention!

Meet Flexflop.

That’s right! flipflops that fold up & are ready at a moment’s notice!

Here are my ideas for these:

  • Bridesmaid gifts (esp for at the reception when their feet are killing!)
  • Same for the bride. Sneak these into your little bridal purse for some dancing relief.
  • Beach wedding!
  • Super cute little handouts for the ladies at a beach wedding!!

If you follow our blog at all, then you know that my mother is both a health nut & an active lady (she just went sky diving last week). I remember being a child and seeing her doing calisthenics along with her video in our basement, in her black tights & black body suit. She was so fit & determined to stay that way. My dad would walk through the room & slap her behind. It was cute. Both her behind & how he slapped it.

As I got older, my mom got into the “art of power walking” (as she called it). She did it everyday, everywhere. One day I decided to see what she was so excited about & thought I would accompany her on this “walk” around the “block”.

I clearly had never seen a power walker in action. A little piece of my 15 year old self died that day.
And to be honest, has never come back.
I was reminded of this today when I was doing a little workout on Santa Cruz beach. I was helping someone who was lost, find their way back to the hotel. They were older & totally turned around. I whipped out my Garmin GPS (I wish I was joking) and trotted off ahead to find their hotel (so that I could come back & direct them exactly where to go with landmarks that I had found). It was turning out to be a decently long walk, so, with no other options (besides running. agh, don’t swear at me). I decided to work on “the art of power walking”.

And walk I did. Much like the video below.
I am THAT cool.

How thrilled was I to see this huge canvas at a recent wedding of mine from their engagement shoot?

LOVE!
