Kari, Radelle & I have been talking, and we wanted to start doing “somewhat regular” posts on this

blog called “Reflect the Love”. A bit of a play on our name Eternal REFLECTIONS photography!

What this will be, is either a)something nice & loving that was done to us or b)something nice &

loving that we did or c)something nice & loving that we plan to do & encourage you to do or

 d) a great loving quote or e)we will skip it and hope you dont notice :)

Why do we want to do a {Reflect the Love} series? Great question! We want to do this because

we love marriage. We love weddings. We love Relationships. But it takes more then a wedding day

to keep that love going. To keep families strong. To keep families united. It takes {Reflecting the Love}.

We hope that by sharing things that have been done to us, or that we have had the honor to do, that we

will all be able to inspire one another to make our homes a little more loving, to talk a little more gently,

to be a little more tolerant.

So here it is!

- Over the weekend, I went out one evening and was doing a little bit of Christmas shopping for Radelle.

I had rockwell in the cart & he was mad. Screaming. He wanted down, but I didnt have the time to play cat

& mouse, so I asked him to please sit in the cart (and even offered him a sucker as fair bribery). But, he was

mad. What was a father to do? I reassured him that I would be quick, and just kept pushing. He screamed.

Kicked his legs & put on a show. I felt like father of the year…but not really. People stared. I continued on,

not wanting to reward his tantrum, but wanting to give in just to get rid of the condemning stares. Just when

I thought I was going to give in, let the 2 year old win, an angel appeared. She had on an employee pin and

said “little girl” (I forgave her for mistaking his gender promptly) “dont you know santa is coming and you

cant be crying?” She was enough distraction that he instantly stopped crying. She chatted with him and

calmed him down talking to him about Christmas. She was an angel. I wanted to sweep her up and say

THANKYOU!! But worried that rockwell might find that confusing…. I want to give her a shout out.

Cathy, you were fantastic & I appreciated your kindness more then you know. Thank-you for stopping

the tantrum & for being so caring!

- I want to give a shout out to Radelle. We had some vehicle trouble recently. No, not the breakin,

just some other stuff. We needed it looked at, but every repair shop was closed. We wouldnt have

been able to make it home. We pulled up to a small mom&pops shop & saw someone inside. I knocked

on the door & a gentleman came out and was MORE then willing to have a look at it, and spend time

on it (an hour!!!) fixing the problem. He was off work, im sure anxious to get home, but he did it. It

was very thoughtful. Radelle suggested that we buy him a gift certificate & take it to him the next day.

We did & he got tears in his eyes. Both the mechanic & Radelle inspired me.

- I heard in church yesterday from one of our church leaders that one of the small nicest things

you can do to warm the hearts of mankind is to be a considerate driver. I am not always this person.

I am often out for myself and get easily annoyed at the other drivers on the road. We were taught

that when you (for example) let someone into your lane, it not only brightens their day & surprises

them, but something totally changes in YOUR attitude & demeanor. You instantly are more caring &

that can stay with you for the entire time. Kind gestures change our heart & make us better people.

This week, I commit to being a more courteous driver. I challenge you to do the same.

Did anyone else read archie comic books growing up?
I seriously loved them. When I was around 10, I found a little local bookstore,
where you could sell your old “archies” (as I affectionatley called them) and then
buy “new” (used) archies. It was like a never-ending cycle of bliss. And I would
like to publicly thank all of the other pre-teens who were my silent partners in

this coop of archie sharing. what joy we brought to one another.

Whenever I would get a new one, I would go to bed early that night, and snuggle

under my covers and just read their floating thought bubbles. The joy that I felt

was tangible. It filled the minivan with excitment on the drive home, it seeped

out under my bedroom door & filled our house with joy.

Photographing a couple in love, gives me that same feeling. That same tangible joy.

Adam calls it my natural high. And it is. It is.

These two gave that feeling to me. Each frame that I photographed was invigorating and

filled my soul.

So, what do you get when you cross a California beauty with an abercrombie model?

So I realized that I had never blogged about my wedding!

For those of you who don’t know, I got married this past July to my best friend.
We are very similar in some ways, and in other ways we are completely different.
We teach eachother things: he had no idea that you can roll your socks in a ball- he’d just lay them on top of eachother..
He’s taught me how to cook but spaghetti is still a staple in this household.

I just can’t imagine not having him in my life. he completes me. he is the kind of man who wakes up
in the middle of the night to give me back the blankets he stole.
We put eachother before ourselves. selfless.
There are days when I can’t even deal with myself. but he finds a way to understand
me, and to show me that he loves me. he knows me.
It literally brings tears to my eyes the thought of him not being in my life (i know its cheesy…but its true).

and I love that he picked me.

So, our wedding we decided to go with a vintage 1940’s glam theme . i’ve always secretly wanted to born in that time and be BFF
with Audrey Hepburn.and we could dance and sing to the songs from My Fair Lady together.

We had family sing at our wedding (vintage/oldies music)
We had a swing dance performance ( I tried to convince matt to take swing dance lessons…but not even a Lindor chocolate could convince him).

We actually took pictures the day before our wedding in Waterton, so I wouldn’t have that stress and time restraint on my actual wedding day.

The Beautiful Radelle and Handsome Adam took pictures for us!! Thank you so much, from the bottom of our hearts.
We love them. no… we LOVE/ADORE/CHERISH/CRAVE them..

It was a little different being on the other side of the camera,  Radelle and Adam had their work cut out for them…
I am not a good poser.
I am good at posing people.
But for myself..

I am terrible. dare i say, horrifying?
no really. ask her. she’ll be honest and tell you the same.

I saw this phrase from the bible awhile ago, and it 100% made me think of my amazing husband and our beautiful marriage.

“Whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: Where thou diest, will I die”

Mucho Love,
Kari

O,h on a sidenote: I also want you all to know that we are doing ‘Cans For Comments’
So for anybody who leaves a comment we give a can to the food bank…
Lets rock it!

It has been a long day. but a beautiful day. I especially loved the part when I was singing and bustin’ a move in my car
today listening to Lady Gaga (i needed a ‘good’ beat to shake my thanngg) -i looked to my right, and about 3 kids and
1 mom staring my way.with their noses pressed up against the window. Looking to the left to avoid the awkward
eye contact- there were two old bitties shaking their head at me… I am sure they watched in utter amazement
over my killer moves. For example, the hand jive and head bop.

Right now I have my comfy slippers on (with one pant leg in and one out).
my hair up in a loose bun. My favorite sweater (which I ’stole’ back from Radelle).
munching away at the perfect hazelnut chocolate.
Ok, to be honest- its was already eaten by the time I started this post.
Thats how I do it.

Mucho Love,

Kari
