I think Adam is the coolest chap around for 2 reasons:

waikiki wedding photographer1)when I was feeling dumpy in his shirt that is enormous on me (airline lost MY suitcase),

he told me he heard it was large tshirt day in hawaii and that I was right in style.

(Here is me all curled up in Adam’s huge shirt)hawaii destination wedding photographer

2) he didnt turn heel and run when i yelled loudly ” I GOT LEID!!!!”  (with MUCH passion) in front of 200 people upon

 getting my first flower lei.

(p.s. we are having lots of fun)

…today I felt like a duck out of water. A diva out of Divaville. I went to an Industrial Auction sale

(yes you read right). This is the type of place where they sell cranes & backhoes & bobcats& cats & semi’s…..etc….

I was there to buy a backhoe. except that until part way through the day, I thought it was called a trackhoe

(ie: “which ring are the trackhoes selling in?”. My bidders manual informed me that the one my husband wanted

me to buy was a BACKHOE. We are building our dream house & apparently need this thing for the basement,

sewer (eww) lines, etc. I wore my pink felt coat & sassy pink striped rubber boats (hello, there WAS mud).

I wore the pink so that the auctioneer would notice me when I actually started to bid. You see, I was a she

in a sea of he. I did not see another female. for miles. Except my mom. But she doesnt count. I dragged her there.

For moral support (she laughed at me as I bid. pft). In case you are wondering…yes, I was the champion bidder.

No, I didnt go above the pre-approved limit that my husband gave me. & Yes, I rocked it. I was so nervous sitting there.

I saw that my BACKHOE (when I first typed that I typed bobcat. there is no hope for me) was up next. I was so nervous.

I asked my mom to just bid for me. She said heck no. I said “Rockwell is sleeping on me, I cant bid”. She said

“your one hand is free, thats all you need”. Then she said “Radelle, you are a professional business woman. Sure

this is not your domain, but you can do this. Just look like you belong. Like you do this everyday”. So I did internet.

When it came my turn to bid, I put on my best professional-i-can-buy-a-trackhoe/bobcat/backhoe face & I bought

that sucker. I bought it internet. My first piece of heavy machinery. It made me think about how many times I have

had to feel like a fish out of water, totally out of my element, not adaquate & scared….and had to buck up & get ‘er done

(yes, I talk like that now. Im down with the rustic machinery lingo). I had literally stood before with knees knocking

& after achieving the goal, felt like I could do anything.

So, whats holding you back? What are you going to do today that scares you?

Today I am going to

a) Bake Something MYSELF

b) SEW Something MYSELF

c) HIKE up a mountain

d) NOT go on facebook

e) HAVE a relaxing bath. (listen, I cannot slay all my dragons in one day)

p.s Adam & I will be in Hawaii shooting a wedding this next week. Email will be returned but just a wee bit slower. Kari will be up to full

steam though (dont feel bad for her, shes going to mexico for

weddings a few times this winter). :)

When I was a teenager, I was allowed to go to co-ed church dances.

But there was one rule. No Full Circles With Your Hips. none. It was “skanky” as my mother said.

My brother, being just 18 months older then me, and in the same group of friends…kept a watchful

eye to see if my hips were being obedient or not. One time he busted me. “Thats a full circle!!”

he screeched in front of all my friends and potential beaus. If I could have sunk into the gym floor and

slithered away to the door & back home, I SO would have. I got busted doing the FULL CIRCLE.

No one else even knew it was forbidden <by my mother>, not God. I picked up my chin, got a

sassy glint in my eye, tossed my fried bleach blonde hair over my shoulder and said “It was NOT a full circle.

It was 2 Half circles, with a brief pause in the middle”. He had no words. HA!

Everytime a Bride’s album arrives at our office. I do the dance. the full circle. with spirit fingers.

in your face Shane. Why dont you tell momma now?? (hee hee…) We LOVE our albums.

We are proud of them. This summer we started carrying a new Collection of Exclusive Albums.

They will last forever, they are that well made. The company that makes them is an exclusive

Album Boutique that takes a very limited amount of clients. We submitted our work,

and now (after many prayers) we are one of their few elite clients. We love them & always will.

We are the only company in Western Canada carrying this specific brand of albums. Even

when we do consulting and share all of our trade secrets, this is the one thing that no one will

get out of us. No matter how many Lindors you bribe us with.

They are that elite. They are luxury. They are for the best. Our Fabulous Couples.

I sat in church yesterday in my snakeskin (yes you read right) pointy toed cowboy boots (with a brown plaid skirty & flirty scarf if you mind) and listened as our bishop told how the youth had collected an enormous (it was insane!!) amount of food for the local Food Bank. I was humbled that a bunch of teenagers cared enough to step outside of themselvs and care about others.

It got me thinking… I feel like overall im a good person, I dontate to the needy and I genuinely care about people being cold or hungry or homeless…. but am I doing all that I can?

We went on to sing a hymn that went a lil’ somethin’ like this  “Have I done any good in the world today? Have I helped anyone in need? Have I cheered up the sad by making someone feel glad? If not I have failed indeed. Drayton Valley Photographer Has anyone’s burden been lighter today, because I was willing to share? Have the sick & the needy been helped on their way, when they needed my help was I there? …etc…  I felt humbled. Here I am living my dream, I have an amazing husband who makes me a better person, a better photographer, a better mom, I have a son who is the light of my life & makes me belly laugh daily. My “work” is my passion. I adore photography, I adore love & I get so excited for weddings. How many people can say there are giddy before they go to work, & stay up way to late after their “work” (wedding) looking over the work they did that day. I am building the house of my dreams, and if it must be said, my siblings & mom & inlaws rock. I have so much love in my life that it is overwhelming… in a good way. Oh, and the icing on the cake is that I have the cutest kitten Tommie. Im not a cat person, at all. But this little gaffer has won me over…

Anyways, do I do as much as I could? Im sad to say that I dont. I resolve to do more. To care more. To Love more.

As such, ERP is putting together a huge, HUUUGGEE care package for the Edmontons Womens Shelter.

Domestic violence is a cause that is near and dear to my heart, and I am honored to be able to help out in any small way.

We invite you to participate.

We are more then happy to swing by your place and pick up your donation if you wish.

When I think about women & children in the shelter, scared for their lives, I am so proud of them.

They risked incredible danger, and have taken a stand for themselves and their children. They are seeking out a better life.

They are stopping the cycle of abuse. They are my personal heros. Some excellent items are tolietries, women”y” things

(you know what I mean…), Diapers & wipes for babies, clothing, small toys or coloring books for kids, etc.

Im a big believer that every woman should feel beautiful, so I always throw in some “pampering” item as well like a nice lotion,

nail polish or my fave lipstick.

Here is to making the world a better place.

Much Love,

Radelle

p.s. Wasnt my bride from saturday simply lovely???!
